Corporate Intern - General Bank Data & Reporting
Overview
First Citizens Bank offers an exciting summer internship program that provides development opportunities and hands on work experience while creating a talent pipeline for the Bank. Our interns will apply classroom knowledge in a corporate environment while making a positive impact across the organization and the communities we serve. This position supports the General Bank Data & Reporting team at First Citizens Bank. The role performs advanced data analysis to identify factors that affect business profitability, growth, and efficiency. Assesses current practices, collects information and industry trends, and creates specifications to support business operations. Determines improvements or solutions to address identified issues. Prepares technical reports by examining and summarizing data. The intern will be focused on data and reporting delivery strategy, exploring new capabilities and deploying those capabilities, and reviewing how to structure and roll out BI capabilities with new tools.
We are looking for candidates who are within a commutable drivable distance to our Raleigh, NC office.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

Data Analysis - Source, compile, and interpret data. Analyzes data for accuracy and efficiencies, effectively communicates analysis output.

Operational Support - Provide daily support for business operations by responding to inquiries, identifying issues, and working to improve standard practices. Assist in implementing recommended modifications and enhancements. May serve as an analytics resource to wider organization or business units.

Identifying Objectives - Determine overall business needs through analysis and reporting. Suggest strategies to achieve company and department goals. Assist in creating specifications, project plans, or other forms of documentation to communicate business initiatives to wider work group.

Reporting - Produce reports based on data analysis, industry trends, and process capabilities. Convey patterns, problems, and areas of improvement.

Be part of a dynamic team with interesting projects.

Accountabilities can and may include areas such as research, analytics, projects, strategy, process review and improvement, as well as technology enhancements and support.

Attend professional development sessions, informational sessions, networking and community service events.

Have a dedicated manager and program manager to help you navigate the bank and the internship program.

Be assigned a project, designed to improve a specific process or solve a problem that you will present at the close of the internship.

Prepare a wrap-up presentation to be shared with the division leader and other key stakeholders in the company to outline your accomplishments and experience during the internship

Qualifications
Required qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of experience

Currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution (during the time of the summer program)

Ability to work 40 hours per week during the duration of the program
Preferred qualifications:
-
Degrees: Business, Marketing, Analytics, Economics, Finance and/or Data Science

Knowledge of key business tools: Alteryx (data transformation tool), ETL tools, BI and reporting and delivery tools (Power BI, Cognos, Tableau), SnowFlake and DBT Labs
